About Me

Educational & Professional Background

I am originally from Indianapolis, IN, and I graduated from Purdue University in 1999 with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.  During my time at Purdue, I met my wife of now 15 years.  We are happily married and are blessed to have two wonderful children.  In the summer of 1999, I moved to the Chicagoland area and worked as a Test Engineer for 14 years.  In 2012, I receive a MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.  That led to my current position as a Test Engineering Manager.  As a newly Certified Personal Trainer, I am helping others become fit in the comfort of their own homes.

Fitness & Training Background

I grew up as that tall, skinny, and shy kid.   I never played organized sports past middle school because I always considered myself too skinny and unathletic.  At 22 years of age I was 6 feet tall and weighed 130 pounds.  I always wanted a muscular frame, but assumed my size was a function of my genes and not my willingness to work towards my goal.  I was growing tired of my small frame and became motivated to do something about it.

During my many failed attempts of trying to “get in shape”, I began to enjoy exercise.  I committed to my workouts out of HABIT instead of obligation and from that point I began to see visual RESULTS.  Today, I am 190 pounds with 10% body fat due to the HABITS I formed many years ago.  Based on this experience, I wholeheartedly agree with the idea that we can all change our bodies if we work at it.  Our HABITS will determine the magnitude of that change and if it is for the better.

As I grew in size and confidence, I began designing workouts for friends and coworkers.  That was my way of “paying it forward” since I’ve received so much fitness help from others throughout the years.  I enjoyed helping others pursue their fitness goals; however, without the proper background and credentials I could only go so far.  In the fall of 2016, I enrolled in a program to become a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).  Today as a Certified Personal Trainer, I am eager to help others find their path to better health and fitness!
